Đây là những công việc thuộc mã ngành NOC TEER 2 và 3 vẫn có thể giúp vợ/chồng đương đơn có được giấy phép lao động mở (open work permit) để cùng sang Canada làm việc và sinh sống theo quy định của chính phủ.
Kể từ ngày 14/01/2025, Bộ Di trú, Tị nạn và Quyền công dân Canada (IRCC) đã thông báo rằng vợ/chồng của người lao động nước ngoài sẽ chỉ đủ điều kiện xin giấy phép lao động mở cho vợ/chồng (SOWP) nếu vợ/chồng của họ làm việc tại một số ngành nghề nhất định:
- Nghề nghiệp TEER 0;
- Nghề nghiệp TEER 1; hoặc
- Chọn nghề TEER 2 và 3.
Để vợ/chồng của người lao động nước ngoài đủ điều kiện theo các quy định này và được cấp giấy phép lao động, người lao động nước ngoài đó cũng phải còn ít nhất 16 tháng trong giấy phép lao động tại thời điểm vợ/chồng của họ nộp đơn xin SOWP.
Những thay đổi này có hiệu lực vào ngày 21 tháng 1. Những thay đổi này không ảnh hưởng đến các giấy phép lao động hợp lệ đã được phê duyệt trước đó và chưa hết hạn, cũng như không ảnh hưởng đến việc gia hạn đủ điều kiện của các giấy phép lao động đó.
Trước những thay đổi này, vợ/chồng của người lao động nước ngoài có thể đủ điều kiện xin SOWP bất kể nghề nghiệp của người lao động nước ngoài là gì.
Sau đây là các ngành nghề TEER 2 và TEER 3 sẽ cung cấp các SOWP trong tương lai.
*TEER là viết tắt của Đào tạo, Giáo dục, Kinh nghiệm và Trách nhiệm, là phương pháp của chính phủ liên bang Canada để phân loại trình độ kỹ năng của một nghề nghiệp trong Phân loại nghề nghiệp quốc gia (NOC), trong đó TEER 0 là nghề có kỹ năng cao nhất và TEER 5 là nghề có kỹ năng thấp nhất.

Tiêu đề công việc liên quan đến mã NOC của nghề nghiệp của bạn có thể không khớp với tiêu đề công việc do người sử dụng lao động của bạn cấp. Đối với mục đích của NOC, điều quan trọng là bạn đã thực hiện những nhiệm vụ và trách nhiệm nào cho một vai trò nhất định (bất kể tiêu đề của bạn là gì).
